It started out exciting with a cold emotionless immortal female entering a race around the world to collect various items before the rest of the teams. Very Amazing Race like, except for the maiming, mangling and eventual killing part. She has not felt anything, no emotions since she was cursed ages ago. Then this vampire her sworn enemy walks into her life and dang it, she has a feeling. Sebastian, the vampire, has been cold the few decades himself. He hates being what he is, does not want to live till he meets this nasty cold woman and tries to get her to kill him. But what happens ? He get's a stirring he hasn't felt since turning. He chases her, she runs from him, they argue, battle wits and physically grapple through the race. He wants to know her she wants to for get him. Both lives hang in the balance and then it get complicated. There are gods, demons, witches, fey, and 'others' a many. LOL
A nice fast paced read with a wonderfully smart character, Sebastian. The ending was a total cliffhanger so I had to rush and start book 4 right way. Sneaky author. : )

Sebastian has a way with his bite-

So good!! I loved Sebastian so much. I would recommend either skipping book #1 or just looking past the dub con, because this next installment was worth it.

OMG, I LOVED THIS BOOK. I do have some problems with the ending, but I'm really happy overall. I think I even like it better than the last one.
Sebastian is such a cinnamon roll deep down. Yes he can fight and he did get a little snippy with her, but to his core he is soft and cuddly. And Kaderin was so cool and badass. I loved seeing an almost reverse of the last couple in personalities.
Also, the plot of having a game show like contest was an amazing backdrop to the story. I found I couldn't put this novel down because I not only wanted to see when the couple would get together, but I wanted to know what would happen with the competition.
I also can't wait to read the next book because I know it follows Mariketa and Bowen, who still seemed very determined that his mate was dead at the end, so we will have to see what is going on there.
Now for what I didn't like. I did not like watching another main character acclimate to modern times. It was fun the first time and that was it.
I also didn't like that Kaderin got Sebastian, her sisters, and she will get to meet Sebastians family. It just felt like she got everything and there was no real sacrifice. I also didn't like that she was the happy go lucky self again. I liked seeing her as the cold killer and Sebastian, while it took some time, did too.
