this was a really good book! i loved it and i 100% recommend it.

An insult to the brilliance of Louisa May Alcott. Atrocious.

You ever read Little Women and thought there is not enough Meg in this book?

Yeah, no one has. Except for this author apparently.

Boring as fuck.

I didn't really care for a few things in this book. 1) I felt like the editing and structure could've been better, even from the only 2 pages I read. The paragraph format & longer blocks of text made it feel like several of the sentences or inner thoughts of the characters lost potency because they were drowned out, stuck in the middle of a long paragraph. 2) I'm not sure if it was just a particular mood I was in, but the sentences felt really flat to me. There didn't feel like a lot of depth or dimension to the narrator. 3) This is a petty reason, but I disliked that Meredith described her own daughter's eyes as "milk-chocolate" eyes. Like what the fuck. Please stop describing people's body parts like food; it's just an immediate "no" from me.

i mean...okay??? i guess???
