There are stories, great, small and mediocre. And then there is Mistborn. This secret history, the story of stories of the Mistborn Trilogy is the extension of the epic Sanderlanche in The Hero of Ages. I am so glad that I waited all this time to read the SA, Warbreaker, Elantris, short stories and novellas and the first three books of the Wax and Wayne series to read this beautiful re-conclusion of the first Mistborn Trilogy. Finest of Brandon's Works.
"There is always another secret"
Spoiler
Emotional Impact -> Tears of joy, sadness and satisfaction, what a conclusion! And Spook! Vin! OMG.
Characters -> How I loved Preservation, Keliser (finally I like him), and how I am enchanted with Vin again, Sazed's character is developed in 1 paragraph! What a beautiful story!
Plot -> Finest of the Mistborn. This story is like dessert, after a fine meal. So intricately woven, such elegance in such short pages... Might be Brandon's best plot, but then Mistborn's plot is one of the best in all of fantasy novellas.
Prose -> Excellent, one of Brandon's finest, on the lines of The Emperor's Soul
Worldbuilding -> The COSMERE finally!!!!!

(Read from Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection)
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
I cannot really talk about the plot of this little book, or the characters for that matter, because of spoilers. Well, let's just say a certain fan-favourite character features in this book, we get to see Preservation in person, we also get considerable wider Cosmere connections and we get to see the events of Mistborn Era I through the viewpoint of another character.
Another thing I must mention is how funny this book was, courtesy of the aforementioned fan-favourite character. I was smiling for most of it, and more than once it made me laugh out loud.
While you can read this after Mistborn Era I, Brandon Sanderson himself recommends you read it after The Bands of Mourning, and so do I. Secret History doesn't have any major spoilers for Mistborn Era II, but you should still read The Bands of Mourning before it.
Overall, a fantastic and very funny book.
