4.5 Stars for Braxton Fawn and her harem of rock stars!

Omg this book was so different from BB's Fear Me series (which is probably one of the first series I read in the bully genre which got me hooked to that trope). Braxton was invited to join the band Bound to replace their guitarist who died of an overdose. Not only did she have to prove herself to the band musically that she could keep up with their iconic status, but also shine as her own person.

Boy did Braxton knock them out of the park!

I didn't really like the fact that the first few chapters seemed like a filler, just to elongate whatever it was that was going on with the fmc and the rest of the guys. While I liked how their connections to each other was described, I had a hard time not skimming a lot of the chapters because of how it just seemed like it took too long for something to happen. While I liked the fact that the fmc had them begging when they wronged her, when it happened again, it just seemed rushed. Like they were just forced to kiss and make up because some urgent thing happened. Maybe that's just me.

However, there are good things about this book! Their romances were slow burn, not really that insta-love. While they had an instant attraction with one another, they didn't do anything about it immediately. For a reverse harem full-length book that wasn't just cut into a trilogy or four parts, this was really nice to read. And very different too seeing as how they were all stars.

Here's the thing, I have been on a run of smut related books the past month and half. Do I regret it? NO! The anticipating, the waiting, the wanting... it was worth it.

This book is a standalone and I think that was a smart choice. What I did like about it is that it was not like the story line took place over a month or two, it spans over a year or so allowing for the tension to build and make each person wait.

I felt for Braxton in the sense of her upbringing and conflicted thoughts. I loved the storyline of each character. I wish I was in Braxton's shoes, especially in a certain scene. Braxton is a little minx herself. The writing was well done and even though I was happy in the end, my heart was torn a couple times, and it got very very very steamy and exciting. I think this is a perfect standalone for those that are in a slump from a series. Highly recommend this book! I definitely will be reading more by this author.
