This is a great start a new series by Chelle Bliss, The Men of Inked series. The first book follows Suzy McCarthy who kind of leads a mundane existence, but yearns for something more passionate in her dating life. One night she runs into super alpha, Joey "City" Gallo and a spark ignites. He's the complete opposite of the straitlaced men she's always dating, but she quickly finds out that he is the key to unlocking her inhibitions and letting her become who she really wants to be. From the first moment Suzy and City meet on the chemistry is palpable. You could clearly see why they were attracted to each other from the start; it wasn't just a physical attraction, but I think subconsciously they knew that the other had something that would help to balance them. It wasn't insta-love, but maybe insta-lust and holy hell did they burn up the sheets. Some of the steamiest scenes I've read in awhile that had me fanning my whole body down with my ereader.

I loved that this story was not only hot, but showed how these two learned how to trust and not make snap decisions based on looks and societal norms. Just because someone might look good with you on paper, doesn't mean that they are the right person for you to be spending your time with. Love that City & Suzy found their happy ending through all of their bumps. I can't wait to read the next in the series and hope that we get to peek into City & Suzy's lives in future books. This was my first Chelle Bliss book and it certainly won't be my last.

For a smutty little read there were an awful lot of fade-to-black scenes

Thoughts.

- I hated that the author talked about and set up this whole kidnapping fantasy and then didn’t go through with it at all and there wasn’t even any kinky sex at all.
- a lot of statements that made me uncomfy.
- the plot was good enough to finish but I was left wanting so much more from their relationship.
- was labeled a suspenseful romance, but no suspense?
