Top notch narration. These narrators were absolutely phenomenal!!!
Stunner casting!

I loved loved this book so freaking much! The story was funny and captivating. The characters are amazing. Fisher the town grump who is only soft for his niece Sutton until he meets his match. Taking care of Libby even tho he was irritated and fighting his attraction to her.

Every single time character was done so well. The differences but all being part of a small island family.

Can’t wait for book two! Summer loving coming soon!

This was a fun summer book! I really enjoyed the fictional island of Monhegan, Maine. And this book had plenty of LOL moments. It took me a while to feel the spark between Fisher and Libby, but they were a good Grumpy/Sunshine pair. I really loved the relationship between Libby & Sutton, the way Libby seamlessly fell into the caretaker role for Sutton was just precious. The dual narration did a great job bringing the story to life, I just wish we got to see more of the romance between them.

herperfume's review against another edition

DID NOT FINISH: 11%

It was a combo of Elizabeth Sweet being too dumb for her own good and the female narrator's voice, though great for the child Sutton, irritating me for an adult. I'm sure someone else will like this, but I'll throw this in the wealthy white woman problems pile that just doesn't do it for me, a working class Latina.

I really liked Fisher and Libby, and Sutton! The connection to the friends off the island kind of threw me - like I know why they tied it all in but seemed unrealistic and didn’t fit Fisher and Sutton’s story/life. I wish we got more of them after, the epilogues were short but maybe we’ll get a lot of them in the following books in the series! Full cast audiobook narrators were amazing.
