Fun thriller, 2 and a half hours to read.

This is a locked-room mystery turned up a notch - people keep dying and you know that the murderer is one of the group. The paranoia is excellent

The tension mounted by the knowledge of what is going to happen, and the hint of the rhyme is very good

I found the reveal a little trite, but then, I think it was always going to be

Not my favourite Christie for a lot of reasons. Showing off her plotting skills tho. I have reread this many times.

I'm glad I read this. You can definitely see the influence this has had on modern mysteries and thrillers. Looking back on all the thrillers I've read, there were several locked-door mysteries that were certainly inspired by this one.

It's fast-paced, exciting, and I was surprised by the twists at the end.

A fast and fun closed door whodunnit! Maybe just over 100 pages maybe this is a mystery with a  cast of odd characters invited to the same home on an island where things immediately begin to set in motion. This was my first Christie book and I’m happy it was, i throughly enjoyed racing through this short book.

This was my first Agatha Christie novel. I didn’t hate it, but neither was it a 4 or 5 star either. It was intriguing but her tales don’t age well in some ways. I do think I’ll give her work another chance; however, I'm not part of the camp who will say she’s top notch. At least, not yet. I can say, though, that I see how her books and writing style transfer well to the screen.

I’m grateful for the list of the cast of characters at the beginning. I just wish I hadn’t needed to reference it so much. I also loved the mini parts, basically a shift in perspective, within each chapter. However, this really started out slow and I almost put it aside. I was just so determined to get it read this month as it was so short.

I struggled a little to keep track of who was who in the beginning.
I didn't particularly care for any of the characters but I did enjoy the atmosphere and remained engaged.
