This was way better than I thought it would be. My coworker told me to read this, and for a kids book it was dark??? Like the animals are aggressive in this and sort of scary? I do feel validated in my hatred of birds because the birds in this story are SINISTER.
Shade was so cute as the mc, and I wanted him to get home to his mom ðŸ˜. I like how this showed that you can grow and learn and come to things on your own, even if it’s not what you’ve been taught. You are your own person!
It had good themes and I feel like if i was a kid reading this, it would’ve changed me lol. I already have the prequel ready to read and I plan to read the entire series 🤡
