i’ve never consumed anything that used confinement as a plot device so perfectly as this book. like did she spent 400 pages as a prisoner? yeah she did, but i was eating it up!! like there was never a part that bored me at all

Starts slow but gets really good after the first hundred pages. I hope we get to hear more from the Sultan (he’s such an interesting villain and reading about him up close, as a person with his own outlook instead of an evil figure, worked so well) and find out what Armani’s mother wished for

The end had me shook and made me a bit emotional, but that just made me love it more. I have to say that, just like with Rebel of the Sands, I liked the last hundred pages the most, there's just something Alwyn Hamilton does with her writing that gets me both pumped and scared for the characters at the same time. Can't wait for the next part! Why is February so far away!
