Hands down the worst thing I've ever read.  Not only is it disgusting and sick it had no redeeming qualities whatsoever.  The characters were paper thin and it was poorly written.  Unless what you want is pure shock value I doubt you will enjoy this book.

Relentlessly brutal, but not without payoff. What moisture you don't lose from sweat from the extreme tension or gagging at vivid descriptions, you'll lose from ugly sobbing in the final chapter. Absolutely awesome character work in this one.

Please read triggers before looking into this book. I went in blind but I am messed up and desensitised so I knew I’d be fine. I chose a heck of a book to for my first foray into Splatterpunk. I can absolutely see how it’s not for everyone, but it actually really impacted me. Jaw-dropping at times, utterly grotesque and literally gut wrenching. VERY shocking and disturbing, especially as it involves children. But taking it for what it is, I’d say it’s hit the mark very well. I’ve watched a lot of disturbing movies so this is nothing new for me. First time in written form though. Vile, gory and gratuitous. On brand for Splatterpunk.

⭐️3.5 or 4... idk

I was curious so I read Playground...

First of all... idk what I feel about this book. A rollercoaster of emotions.

Second of all...I don't think this is my genre.

Was it as bad as social media made me believe? Not really. Despite the obviously very disgusting parts and extreme discomfort I felt due to what happens to the kids (It is very SAW-esque), this book was very well written and I will never read anything from this author again.

too gross , could not handle it. I feel some was there for shock value only and it took away from the story.

I wish I hadn't. This is far beyond my limit & I feel awful having read it, but I know the imagination would have run wild if I didn't find out how it finished and I'd rather 1 ending than my brain making up the possibility of 1000s. Think Saw, mixed with Squid Game...but children are made to play and parents are forced to watch. All the trigger warnings. Oh and it has pictures too with graphic details of the gore. And I haven't even mentioned the ringleader of this & the very graphic descriptions of their depraved s*xual desires & actions (thankfully not involving the children). Don't. I feel guilty having read it as it feels like I chose to be a bystander in a horrific crime. Even though it is fictional. Having said that, it did its job, so technically it is well written. I just wish I hadn't picked it up.
