Aron Beauregard has this wild ability to blend gore and plot in a way that makes you want to read every brutal word. Playground felt like a twisted mashup of Terrifier, Lord of the Flies, and Saw. Bobby is such a vile kid, I practically fist bumped Isaac for his final “screw you.” The emotional intensity was real, and while I was a little bummed Tom didn’t get his revenge, Greg still got what he deserved.
Highly recommended for fans of unapologetically extreme horror.

This was vile just for the sake of being vile. I have read extreme horror, and have enjoyed it! (American Psycho is a favorite of mine) But this was way over the top. Not to mention how badly written it is, it had multiple typos.
Will probably skip everything else from this "author"

Don’t get me wrong this was definitely a horror story and probably really good. I DNF’d it. I got to a point that was a definitive no for me. I can handle a lot more than I realize but some things I just have to draw the line with and this one was it. I’m beyond grossed out and horrified lol. I praise any and every person who can finish this. You all are stronger than me!
This book was really good, going into this book I was very open minded and just wanted to enjoy the way the story was written instead of focusing on the gruesome facts.
The worst part of this book was the disgusting

Absolutely disgusting. Was torn between if it was a 1 star or 5. But I think if that’s on your mind then it’s probably a good horror book. I’ve been trying to explore genres and this is my second horror book. I don’t think I’ll seek something like this out again but I did enjoy reading this. It was well written and the author did a good job with shifting our emotions towards the characters.
Edit. Changed it to 3 star. The gore is a 5 but the child sexual stuff grossed me the fuck out. And I’ve heard that this author seems to have an obsession with it
