That was so lovely.

Is this the perfectest book ever? No, there are plenty of things that I think could've been handled better.

But just the fact that it put me into a reading slump for weeks because I was so scared to finish it with all those cliff-hangers, and all those insane plot-twists that mirrored or were foreshadowed in the previous books making me want to reread them,
combined with that sweet, sweet epilogue that had me giggling and kicking me feet like a five year old (WHAT DO YOU MEAN JORDAN AND DECLAN ARE MARRIED? AND ADAM AND RONAN ARE ENGAGED??????)
alone are enough for me to rate it 5 stars.

If the fact that this might be the last book ever featuring these wonderful characters and this wonderful universe influenced the rating, we're not gonna talk about it :)

I miss them already

I have no words for all the feelings I had reading this book, and I have to say that after reading the second one I had my doubts but it was worth it in the end ok? I love all of these characters sm and im sad to let them god but they need to rest I think

all the comebacks for the epilogue? I was crying you guys, gansey and blue are literally my children, ok?

Oh my god.

What an amazing conclusion to a trilogy and a universe where I fell in love with almost all the characters. I cried so many times, gripped the edges (of my Kindle) as I tore through this. As much as I love Ronan, I loved that the attention on him eased up to focus on other characters who were also very pivotal to the overall plot arc. I got exactly what I needed from this series and I will never be the same.

These characters, with all their spikes and petals and stardust and war crimes and dreams and quirks and defaults and angst have my whole heart.

A meandering and messy ending that can't quite decide who to focus on which leads to Ronan getting sidelined in his own series. The book takes forever to get to an anticlimactic finale and an epilogue that's fanservice-y in uninteresting ways. By the ending, the characters and world were stale, missing the variety of magic and strong bonds between the entire cast from The Raven Cycle. Without the found family or multiple forms of mysterious magic, this series rings hollow after one book.
