Ah, the Turtles. I was a fan back in the day, and I was pleased when Mini-Me picked this out out from the library. This was a good way to get to know the Turtles, but I really wish April's appearance hadn't been reduced to a quick damsel-in-distress shot. If that's the way you're going to bring her in, I'd rather not see her at all. :P

A simplified version of [b: Saved by the Shell! (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)|33940361|Saved by the Shell! (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)|Random House|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1498910674s/33940361.jpg|54910879]. This is a Step 2 book recommended for preschool to first grade readers. It includes basic vocab, a simple story, and short sentences.

Overall, it was good. I was a little disappointed that I had already read a book based on the episode, "Day One, Part One." Illustration are interesting. Ending is left pretty open, as it was based on a part-one-episode. I thought it was a little weird that April looks so happy at the end, even though her father just got abducted by the Kraang and she is now going to live in the sewers with a bunch of giant talking turtles (but the whole father thing wasn't mentioned in this simplified book so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt- plus, pizza).

Good for Ninja Turtle fans.

July 2017 - another of Ben's obsessions, and this one is short and sweet.

January 2017: I don't love the teenage mutant turtle stories, but William loves them so that's all that matters. After reading it a few times together, he can now read it on his own to me.
