Favourite quotes:
"’She's old but very sharp.’ Emilia swallowed. Old but sharp? And which one of those did her son not consider her-old or sharp?”
“Since when did her son have such enthusiasm for working women? As if she, in all her life, had never cooked him anything. Or was it that the sacrifice was worthwhile only if you were sifting flour in the middle of a war and wearing a pair of men's boots?”
“She was enjoying this, too, in her own way. When they were like this, it was very much like peace, the three of them together, the girls' giggles and their soft little hands pressing on her arms, reaching to touch the manual and the cardboard box. When it came down to it, she spent her life pushing forward alone, and moments like these always slipped through her fingers.”
“Deep down, simply, Enzo believed that two lonely people, from two possibly very different worlds, had a lot to share with and teach each other. He needed that company, he wanted it for both of them, and he would end up winning it.”
“She breathed atop the circles, above hundreds of verbs, orders, and desires, and the people and the kentukis surrounded her and started to recognize her. She was so rigid she felt her body creak, and for the first time she wondered, with a fear that threatened to break her, whether she was standing on a world that it was ever possible to escape.”

it was soo boring, there really wasn't much of a plot. it did not live up to the potential of its concept at all, I honestly wanted it to go much darker as it suggests in the description. and whoever said there was unexpected love in the book is a liar because there ain't none of that despite being the book's byline.

Me decepcionei pq achei que era uma história só. Passada a decepção, tem histórias boas (Alina, Emilia), histórias chatas e histórias OK
