Well, I picked up this book because it was late at night and I had left the book I had been meaning to start in the boot of my car. I was a little bit sniffy about reading a much “lighter” novel than my usual taste - I don’t know who had bought the book originally but it was passed on to me by my mother. (The three women in our family - grandmother-mother-daughter are all voracious readers and regularly exchange books). Well so much for my rather snobbish dismissal. I was swept away by the story telling; rooting for the love story within; fell for the impossibly perfect child, and cried at the end. What more could a book possibly offer! I loved it. Not enough for five stars - those are for the books that challenge - but certainly for four! Xxx

Het haalt het bij lange na niet bij de Zeven Zussen serie en het was niet bijzonder, maar las wel heerlijk weg!

It was kind of long and had a lot of extra details. An OK book overall. It has a few mature concepts. I would say it's appropriate for about 15 and up.

This the first book I read from this author.
As a audiobbok loved the narration.
As story loved it too, i read as a mix of Alice Hoffman and Kate Morton.
It tangles family and times, it's a tale of love, family, lost, forgiveness and so many other things.
Between New York, London and Ireland.
I don't want to give spoilers away so, let me just say that it is a well done tapestry that is made along several generations.
