A short and sweet book on Love. The symposium tackles this hefty topic through many characters' speeches varying the different interpretations on the concept and the god. The ideas are conveyed effortlessly and the logical deduction provided by Socrates is great.

Being the first book I read by Plato I highly recommend it to anyone looking to start reading Plato as well because I will definitely read more by him in the future.

No me gusta opinar de cosas que genuinamente no se, una de esas cosas es la filosofia, aun asi me gustaria destacar lo "facil" que fue leer esta obra a comparación de otros textos antiguos

“Love is just the name we give to the desire for and pursuit of wholeness.” !!! Obsessed with this dialogue. The idea that love comes in all shapes and forms but is essential in all facets of life is so refreshingly HUMAN. The view of the body as a conduit of all of the different forms of love we have experienced is so important. Being able to exercise agency in preparing the body to receive and give love (whether good or bad) is so powerful.

each speech was so beautiful— each argument so carefully crafted I’m speechless at my own ignorance of love. beautiful! also the way they let Socrates push them around was hilarious LMFAO stand up!
