It was well written. The character development was profound and the ending left me heart broken. The illumination of human rights was something worth reading.

I couldn’t remember if we actually read this in school or just watched the movie. That being said this was incredibly depressing and sad.

important to mention: i am autistic and physically disabled

was forced to read this book in school and wasn't warned about the dark topics. i wasn't prepared, or old enough to read something like this (i was a grade ahead of my age group). the sexual assault, graphic death, and animal cruelty were incredibly awful to read about. the abelism made me feel very awful about myself, even though i was undiagnosed at the time.

if you're a teacher, especially to younger students, don't put this book on the curriculum without providing content warnings or an alternative. not having that ruined the book for me, and i will never read it again.

At first I thought it was a thriller book, then I thought it was a lighthearted friendship kids tale, then I was crying

J’ai du supprimer et refaire la review psk le livre apparaissait dans mes « livres lus » et même si oui je l’ai lu en entier je ne souhaite pas qu’il apparaisse dans mon récapitulatif du mois parce que c’est une grosse merde qui m’a fait dissocier pendant 3h ou +

De plus, très mauvaise adaptation, une BD qui met le texte intégral en dessous des cases c’est déjà mauvais signe, style inconsistant, pas de narration visuelle, rend le truc + difficile au lieu de faciliter la lecture.

Et puis bon les CW font partie de mon commentaire
