After a slow and slightly confused start, I ended up really getting into this. Totally enjoyed it by the end, now I have lost my Pratchett virginity I definitely want to read more

As with all of Pratchett`s books, a delightful romp.  His books appeal to the child in me, but there are hard hitting bits of homespun wisdom too.  Being a bit old myself I love identifying with the elder witches!

Sadly, this is the first Pratchett book where the book started off so weak...

I only started caring about the story once the Withces arrived in Genua. I mean, I love his humor but the story in this one was unbelievable bland and boring. Sure the little references to well beloved fairy tales where nice... but holy heck the first half is boring beyond believe.

The book however does redeem itself towards the end, it's as if Pratchett finally realized where he actually wanted to take the story.

Now, someone pass me a banana daiquiri

Granny's sister is a Fairy Godmother. Magrat is The Other One.

A perfect twist on so many fairy stories (and a fair bit of wizard of Oz references too). Granny Weatherwax also just talks the best sense, we need more like her.
