Without a doubt, Let The Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist is a horror novel. The horror is being poor, a junkie, or a fat kid with low self esteem. The people in this novel were living a horror story before any vampire showed up. I found this novel profoundly disturbing on more levels than I can count.

This is a translation and was a bit clunky at times.
