This was my second of Alderton’s books and I liked it even a little better than the first. This had heart and depth, and covered the dynamics of grief, familial relationships, and changing friendships. I may buy a copy for my shelf - there’s comfort and nostalgia to be gained from Alderton’s words even if I’m not in the exact life stage she writes about.

this is a brilliant book. it captures such a strange unique experience that our modern age of online dating complicates. You can’t just “delete” someone out of your life, but these men without regard for a persons feelings continue to repeat these horrible patterns. i have been ghosted. not like the women in this book, but it has happened. the images of the person flicker in your mind wondering if they truly fell off the earth or died. wow! i really loved.

this is also to say the relationships with her parents and her friends are brilliantly executed as well.

An accurate portrayal of the highs and lows of modern dating and growing up and finding yourself in the rollercoaster ride. Brilliant.
