I love how versatile Agatha Christie was. Prior to this book, I read a modern mystery of hers. Now all of a sudden I'm thrown back several thousand years to Ancient Egypt. There was no actual detective. Instead, each member of a specific family tried to determine who in their household was murdering the family one by one. A great bedtime read!

Debe ser la única obra de Agatha Christie que transcurre en el antiguo Egipto, historia que nos cuenta como pareciera que Nofret, la mujer del viejo de la familia, muere y parece estar buscando venganza.
Impecable.
Impecable.
Agatha Christie's only historical fiction mystery. It was well-researched and convincing in bringing me to ancient Egypt, in terms of place and culture. The mystery itself was definitely up to Christie's usual standards. She is the Queen of Crime, and she is good at what she does. Perhaps not as classic as Murder on the Orient Express or And Then There Were None, but it was really very entertaining and kept my wheels turning till the end. And the love triangle was a fun addition. :)
My one complaint is that Renisenb (the woman through whom we experience the lion's share of the story) acts so stupid and helpless all of the time, relying on the men in her life to tell her how to think. She becomes a stronger and more independent person by the end, which was a great character development that I loved, but, goodness, her head can be an annoying place to be.

Will keep you on the edge everytime! You won't be able to put the book down unless you get to know about the murderer..
