I loved the beginning of this book. It was full of so many emotions. Once I reached part 2, though, it started to lose its spark. Zade made some redepmtion after the first book with saving the women from trafficking. Once I got to the end, I was back to not liking him. The way he was with Addy was a little sickening with everything she went through. Such a toxic relationship. Nothing cute about it what so ever. I gave it a 3 just because I did enjoy part 1 a lot. The rest of it was dragged out and trash. I could have done without part 2.

Book 2 of the Cat and Mouse Duet.. again please check the trigger warnings before opening this book.

Being honest I didn’t find the second book as gripping as the first… the story to start with seemed to drag on and occasionally ew characters were introduced and I had to go back a page or two to figure out what was going on.

The story between Zade and Addie still had me hooked and how their relationship evolves and grows but the rest I was just a bit meh! about.

I know there’s 2 other books that link to this duet but I’m not 100% sure I’ll be in a hurry to read them!

PSA: Your mental health matters. If this book is not for you, please PLEASE, stop reading the book as it's not for the faint of heart. I will be rating the spice as well, BUT it is only regarding towards the "dubious consent"

The grime and dark picked up pretty quickly right off the bat. I was warned multiple times about this. I thank my friends who have read it for warning me, and have read the trigger warnings. The story was pretty good, did I hoped for more....dark and twisted shit? Honestly, yes a little bit actually. I felt the plot was pretty straight to the point, though the dialogue/writing is still off to me.  The over use of "yin/yang eyes" was too much though I get it since Zade has heterochromia eyes.

I also felt the climax g was a bit cringe at the end, a bit too much "like the movies" as Addie calls it. And the ending was pretty nice and left a bit of a cliffhanger for a character that I hope we get a book on.

A great way to continue Addie & Zades story. I didn’t feel like it was as intense as the first but can also recognise the triggers for many people. The cast of characters are intricate in themselves, Sibby is a favourite. Can’t wait to read more
