Gabbi and Matteo are on the run from the Mafia.

Gabbi is in the wrong place at the wrong time.  She was just doing a favour for a colleague and she lands in the middle of a firefight with the most handsome agent she's ever met.  Matteo is used to putting his life on the line - he went undercover to root out the mafia.  But a simple intelligence handover has turned ugly and now he has to keep the pretty civilian CIA analyst from catching a bullet.

Gabbi is pretty much awesome!  She may be a civilian and out of her depth but she puts everything she has into not slowing down Matteo.  Matteo may have been the love-em and leave-em type due to his job but Gabbi crawls under his skin and I really loved his reactions when he realises just how crappy her family has been to her.  He chose to separate from his family to keep them safe, unlike Gabbi's who enjoy bringing her into their chaos.

Gabbi is stubborn, and determined and even though she sees herself as invisible, Matteo sees her inner light. She wants a stable life, unsurprising after her earlier life.  Matteo never thought he'd have a HEA leading the life he did but with Gabbi he sees that he can have that and do his job. His new mission is get Gabbi out of her shell and get her to see herself as he sees her.

PS.  The Elevator Scene is another hot one!
