Just you. My brain has picked you, and now, I can’t undo it. You’re trapped. With me. For life.

I found this to be a very easy book to read - not because of the topics discussed (those were very triggering) but because the writing is very straightforward, the plot is simple and the characters have clear goals and desires. I did, however, feel that the book was too one-note and the development of the relationship was too rushed, I like to see at least a little bit of tension or conflict. The tone, as well, was something I struggled with. Onley James is clearly a good and very creative writer, but the contrast between the darkness of this book and the lighthearted nature of the prose was off-putting for me.

I did think the idea for this series is very interesting, so I would be interested in giving the other books a go.

Goddamnit! I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with this series quite this fast, but here we are. This was so good! And I just want to reread it immediately.

I love Noah and Adam. For how fucked up this story was, they were so sweet together. I loved how Adam just kind of swept in and started taking care of Noah when his life started to implode in the worst way. And I loved how Noah in turn, was able to ground Adam whenever his temper flared towards the murderous side at inopportune times. I also loved that even though Adam is a psychopath he was willing to ask others for advice on how to help Noah when he didn’t have a clue. These two were so sweet together that I almost got cavities. I also really liked the (fucked up) family dynamics that the Mulvaney’s had. The sibling banter was top notch and the fact that all of Adam’s siblings gave (sort of) shovel-talks to Noah was priceless. And that Noah gave them back just as much shit/good natured teasing was so good!

This was the perfect start to a series that I’m already so invested in from one book. I love this family of psychopaths and I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series! Unhinged is getting five out of five stars.

Well this was a surprise! I’m not usually a Dark Romance fan. Give me a big fluffy book bf, maybe some BDSM; this book was all that and super heavy, but wonderful. I’ll definitely be reading the rest of the series. It never felt like it was too much to handle.

I had seen comments about how Onley James has this magical ability to make heavy topics more palatable and morally questionable characters loveable. Those comment were 100% correct. Both MC’s were more than loveable and I was very invested in seeing them flourish together and I’m committed to the entire supporting cast of characters.

The subject matter of this book (rife with triggers and stomach churning topics) was still readable in a way I hadn’t imagined it could be.

Okay, how could such a dark book have the sweetest romance? I ended up loving this! The hype is deserved. I will say that this won't be everyone's cup of tea and there's some pretty big CWs/TWs. I am intrigued by this family of psychopaths and can't wait to read the next one! Hopefully we get to see more of Adam and Noah in the next books because I love them!

I loved this and I don’t care that it’s impractical. I’m realizing that I’m willing to overlook everything I hate in romance books as long as the book is Fun to read. Because this had no pining between the main ship, like they immediately started hooking up, which is usually a deal breaker for me but here it just… made sense. I loved the characters and how they were written and I thought the whole concept of this book was super interesting! The plot kept me hooked and I honestly cannot wait to dive further into this world of a family of psychopaths turned vigilantes. Adam and Noah were adorable and their conversations about love and what it means were super intriguing to me (as someone who is aromantic and therefore kind of obsessed with analyzing romantic attraction and love). Honestly I will eat up any romance book that’s unconventional and whose idea of love is slightly warped and different from the usual shit. This whole book was so addictive, I couldn’t put it down! I wish it was longer, but nonetheless the other books in the series will have to suffice. I’m really fucking glad I discovered this book and I would recommend it to anyone who’s into dark romance!
Don’t let me leave without talking about the spicy scenes. Some of the best I’ve ever read. THE PRAISE! THE PRAISE! So good.
