Both Noah and Adam felt like their own people, and I enjoyed the dialogue between them. I think we really should have seen more of Noah on his own before he confronts Adam, though. Having the confrontation be our introduction to Noah and then cutting to Noah catching feelings felt very odd. Like, dude, you must've had this grudge on Adam for years??? We miss out on the juicy parts of seeing his view of Adam change.
The romance in general was a bit fast for me. I mean, Adam was already calling Noah his person, destined bond, etc etc like a day after they met lmfao and even by the end of the book, after warming up to the pair a little, I was like "this was REALLY fast." I was also a little uncomfortable that Adam kept making out w/ Noah even though Noah was VERY high. Was glad to see that consent was very involved in all later sexual chapters lol.
I liked the dynamic they developed, but I would have liked it even more if the author had slowed down a bit, yknow? Planning together, hanging out, more scenes like when they went out to get food for the first time. Those were the highlights of the book, for me. The sex was solid, I've admittedly read better TBH. It was definitely a step up from the Rina Kent book I read though, IMO. The crime aspect was also better handled here, felt more engaging and less mustache-twirly.
I felt pretty neutral towards the side characters. This opinion might change since all the brothers (and their father) get their own books so...we'll see how far I get. I wasn't as into the siblings talking to each other as the main two talking to each other, it felt more forced. I did, however, enjoy getting a perspective of Noah's effect on Adam. The siblings testing the new boyfriend was fun ngl LOL.
Lastly, a spoiler opinion:
Graphic: Sexual content, Trafficking, Kidnapping, and Murder
Moderate: Death, Gore, Gun violence, Violence, and Blood
Minor: Child death, Incest, Sexual violence, Suicide, and Vomit
Child death(s) occur off-screen and as part of a list of crimes. People are mostly killed via gun, sometimes via vague brutalization (August Mulvaney mentions taking people apart). The subplot is about pursuing a group of child predators who are maintaining a trafficking ring. Therefore, there is a lot of mention (somewhat descriptive) of being sexual with children. Suicide is off-screen and stated as an event. A significant character was abducted as a child, used for sexual gratification of two men, and essentially pimped out in a private cabin. It is not deeply described, but it is an essential component to the plot, so it is referenced often. There are insinuations of a minor being sexually abused by their father.mlb16's review against another edition

i LOVE LOVE LOVE me a good anti-hero read!! doing a bad thing for good reasons, I’LL ALLOW IT (so long as it’s fictional 👀).
i genuinely can’t think of one thing in this story i didn’t love. there was banter, angst, a GOOD (and traumatic) backstory, lovable characters, strong pacing so the plot didn’t unravel too quickly—what’s not to love?? except Gary and his…yk 😤
Noah and Adam complement each other so perfectly, it’s indescribable how much i love them together. normally i prefer a bit of time to pass before the platform for the relationship develops, BUT I DON’T CARE ABOUT THAT HERE I WANTED THEM TOGETHER FROM THE BEGINNING
let me shut up actually, ‘cause i’ve got to start reading (MY MAN 🤭) August’s story 😼

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Liam Dicosimo, who is so fantastic at doing different voices. I listened to this one driving back and forth to work and started binging the series from there.
The whole series revolves around psychopath brothers as adopted family and the boyfriends they can't live without. Thank you, I'll take at least seven, please.

Consensual rough sex, TPE in the bedroom between the love interests. Outside the bedroom, they're pretty cute!roryreadsromance's review against another edition
