I found this short story collection to be one of the best ones I have read.
I liked that they have an interconnecting story to them.
The book covers themes of loss, longing, and regret. So it can be a very melan holic and harrowing read but it is not without it's hopeful moments.
It was an interesting blend of sci-fi and reality.

I like that this is a series of short stories all set in the same dystopia with intersection between. It's like a slice of life between all experiencing the same depressing existence with bits of hope and despair. I enjoyed this book and the honesty that the characters express. I also liked the connection between stories.

This is by far one of the most intriguing, thought provoking, emotional and books I’ve ever read. It expanded my empathy and ideas about the human experience.

This book is a beautifully written exploration of the reality around a plague event. I loved that Nagamatsu took that beyond the strictly human, and that it eventually extended beyond the scope of death and back into ideas of rebuilding and what that might mean.
I thought the last chapter was both expected in style but also unfortunate. It breaks with the style of the rest of the book, and took me out of the space I had been in. It's a valid ending, but perhaps a bit too dreamy and too many ends are tied too neatly.
Overall, I highly recommend it.
