Cute, but dragged in places, and didn't inspire me to read more.

This was a really great book. I really liked the characters, I liked the communication between Poppy and TK, and I like that the conflict between them was not centered around unspoken assumptions. I wish the relationship with TK's mother had been explored a bit more (potentially instead of the fake stalker) and that TK's retirement didn't come so quickly, but overall this was a great story.
This book was good but bot as good as the author's first book, Intercepted.
As a woman of many interests, including football and contemporary romance books, it was really fun to read a book that brought them together. I really enjoyed Martin's style of writing. She was witty and although the book covered some difficult topics, she kept it light. Of course, it was a feel good book which means it had a feel good ending. Even though this book is about a relationship between a football player and a single mom, you don't have to necessarily be a huge football fanatic to enjoy it, just like how you don't have to be a single mom. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a short, light, romantic read that is perfect for the summer. I'm looking forward to reading more of Martin's books.
I was excited to read this book after reading Intercepted. This book left a lot to be desired. The characters were not fleshed out enough. I feel like the book didn't spend enough time on how the characters got to present day. Overall it was a good book, but not great.

Running into your significant ex can be awkward at the best of times, but when your ex is an NFL star TK Moore who happens upon you at your waitressing gig at a strip club; it’s safe to say the awkwardness goes off the Richter scale.
As shocked as Poppy Patterson is, she’s thrown by his excitement at seeing her. As far as she is concerned they ended acrimoniously, and after raising their son alone for the last nine years, the excitement is certainly not reciprocated.
She’s not the pregnant and heartbroken sixteen year old girl she once was. She’s strong, hardworking and an exemplary mother to her son, and because of that, she decides to give TK a second chance at being a dad.
My love for TK was instant, but his knee jerk reaction to Poppy’s news cast a temporary shadow on the affection I had for him. Once his shock passed my admiration was back with a vengeance as we saw him navigate fatherhood and make know his hope to start anew with Poppy.
After the success of INTERCEPTED it was a given that Alexa Martin would added to my roster of auto authors. I enjoyed the sense of fun and easy readability she offered, and the added bonus of it being a sport romance was more than I cared to resist.
I was sure I would be in safe hands when it came to her sophomore novel FUMBLED, and with second chance romance a particular favourite trope of mine, I was not surprised she once again scored a winning touchdown of a read.

I appreciate that this book approached the subject of CTEs/concussions in football.
I had similar issues with this story as with the first. It's little things in the writing - the people surprising the MC and them knowing who it is by their voice. I kind of ignored the drinking in the first book, but it definitely bothered me in this one. Drinking is in the forefront of both books and used as a coping mechanism and seemingly glorified. There was less mean girlness in this one and I liked that more. And there was no miscommunication trope which YES! I hate that trope so much.

Poppy was a very real funny loving lead character. The subject matter with TO and so many football 🏈 players was touching and heartbreaking. I wanted to take my time and savior the story but once I started I could not put it down. Can't wait for the next story

I enjoyed this one just as much as Intercepted. I was worried that things seemed to be going too well too soon and then the last couple hours (audiobook) proved me right! Alexa Martin does a wonderful job with her characters and I can’t wait to listen to the next one!!
