After finding out she was pregnant at 16 and receiving a check for an abortion from her boyfriends mother, Poppy left town and….well…she didn’t get that abortion. When she runs into her old love TK and he wants to start things up again, she knows she needs to tell him that she did not go through with aborting his baby. Their feelings for each other haven’t dimmed, but how will he react to knowing he has a son?

OK so there were a few times during this book where I wanted to go Tyra Banks and scream “We were rooting for you TK! We were all rooting for you!!!” He certainly had a few moments where his reactions infuriated me. I loved Poppy and her relationship with Ace, they were so sweet together, and Ace was just the most adorable child. I loved Intercepted and this was the perfect follow up! I think I may already know which gentleman the next book is about too!

except for the pacing of events that felt weird to me oftentimes, this was a good light read and i enjoyed some fresh air on my fav trope of exes to lovers second chance love, also the ending felt very anticlimactic, i get it was setting up the next book but still it was a bit abrupt, the best part were the characters being endearing and lovable, that made up for the messy pace

Did I read this because TK is inspired by Travis Kelce??? YES. But Alexa Martin has been on my radar forever so like everyone else I just need Taylor Swift to tell me what to do. And if she says we like football now, we like football! Also Alexa is married to a former NFL player?? And I was already excited to read the rest of the series, but that makes me so much more excited!

This book was SO SWEET. There is quite honestly nothing I love more than a second chance romance! And a single mom with a secret baby??? The time apart hurts my heart a little more when there’s a kid is involved. But the fact that Ace was already obsessed with TK because of football made everything so much better.

I LOVED Poppy and TK together. The way they were both sort of holding out hope for the other for the last ten years, mostly unintentionally but still!! They loved each other so much and being reunited was SO GOOD. TK was not going to let her go again. And then when you add in Ace!! That little boy had no shortage of love his whole life and now he’s gets even more! And his name 🥹 Poppy loved TK so much even when she hated him. I love them all so much.

Even all the hard parts, the growing pains of them finding each other again, TK playing football and Poppy hating what football does to the players health, and trying to be a family was GOOD. It was rough don’t get me wrong, but everything was done so well. And the health problems that go along with playing football and how it was addressed was done so well. I LOVE the fact that Poppy wasn’t ever going to allow Ace to play and TK didn’t fight it even if he didn’t understand at first.

Also the way Poppy was able to fit right in with the other wives made my heart so happy. She didn’t really have a huge community, and all of a sudden everything just worked. And they were there for HER with or without TK. I loved it.

I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!! And Alexa’s new book that’s coming out in November!!

I'm not a huge sports rom-com kinda girl BC I feel like sometimes the authors get too technical or write WAYYY too much about the sports aspect when I here for the romance!

But Alexa wrote a realistic ass rom-com that managed to be serious, funny, smutty & just swoon worthy!! Plus a interracial couple!? Thank you Alexa, I need more of that
