I liked this one more than the last one even with everything going on. From the secret kid to concussions to cte. I didn’t realize what TK looked like until this book because the last one didn’t explain him. TK leaving football altogether was a shock. I didn’t care for his disappearance for a month and no one caring. It’s nice to get an update on everyone in the next book at least.

I enjoy a second chance romance for the most part…I think the issue I have with some is how when the MCs cross paths again, they seem to just pick up where they left off…as if they still know the person and as though life hasn’t progressed. This works some times, specifically when there has been a short time that has passed.

In this case, it’s been 10 years since the MCs have seen each other, and the MFC is carrying on as if she still knows him.  At no period are they catching up with each other and getting to know each other as adults…She’s noticing changes in him that she attributes to his playing football, which IMO would hold more weight if she had been a constant in his life for 10 years.  But constantly saying how even tempered he was as a child and comparing that to how he is as an adult wasn’t enough to justify that something was wrong.  To me she was no different from the fans in the stadium who began diagnosing him right after he had a fall…Neither had enough information or expertise to make a diagnosis.  The times he became upset in the story IMo were justified, and most ppl would have reacted the same…his behavior didn’t read as erratic. It felt more like the MFC was projecting her fears and insecurities on to him…Then at the end when she says “I would have supported you.” How is he supposed to believe that when you walked away when he was injured…when things got tough? It’s hard to believe someone who does that would be supportive. She’s a contradiction

The MFC was annoying and a bit self absorbed…towards the end of the story she just became unlikable…who breaks up with someone while they are in the hospital.  She could have waited…but also, she made the decision to be with him knowing what he did for a living. I felt she didn’t take accountability for her actions…she came off very immature.

Also, the “situation” was just brushed under the rug…wish that was fleshed out more or just not addressed at all. It became a nuisance especially given how lightly the MFC was taking…As much has she harped on herself being a mother, you would think she would have taken that situation a bit more serious…Parenthood was knew for MMC, but he wasn’t taking any chances with it.

I loved this story! I loved the characters, the female empowerment, and the friendships! I loved that it was a little steamy. This was just amazing, definitely will be reading more Alexa Martin! I genuinely had a great time reading this story

YES! All I have to say is if you like a romance break read these books from Martin. The women are great and some of their lines are utter perfection. I am not a sport person in any sense and I am still enjoying this series, so if you don't like football, you will still like these fun love stories.

I really liked this book! I enjoyed reading the first one and while both books are romance novels, they both provide different takes on being in love with a football player.

I appreciated the conflict between the fmc and mmc and while everything ultimately ended up “working out” the tension and the chemistry between the two was undeniable.

I really wanted to like this book more than I actually did. I didn't find the ending satisfying and it seems like too much drama happened too fast in like the last three chapters of book. I think my journey with this series is going to end with this one.

This story! It had me. The love and emotional connection between TK and Poppy - I felt it coming off the pages. Even after all the years they lost, their love stood the test of time. It was beautiful and real. And that sweet young man, Ace, was a darling. The three of them were great as a family unit.

The issue of CTE was presented so well. The whole matter was serious and concerning. I really liked how the author addressed it.

The friend group...YASS!!! Those ladies were ride or die.

I felt this book in my toes. It gutted me. The third act break up and Ace's reaction to his dad's injury did me in; I was outright weeping.

I liked the book, and I loved the reader! She really brought life to the story!
