While this was a very quick and easy read, I didn’t like it very much. The characters never quite felt real to me and they had such weird reactions to things. I know that Poppy and TK knew each other in high school but after 10 years they find each other again.... and just literally pick up where they left off? It’s been 10 years and they don’t even take the time to get to know the new versions of each other. TK literally waltzes back into her life with hardly any caution or question. As I said, it never really felt real to me
Recommended as a favorite of the year by Jasmine Guillory(whose books I love). I agree. Sweet and hot perfect for super bowl season reading.
3.5 is more accurate for this one - only because it felt a little forced/rushed at times. Otherwise, a fun continuation of the world started in Intercepted. I appreciate that there's more at stake for Poppy (LOVE her name) and that her past is stated factually, not as a hurdle to overcome. I also love how she meets and finds her way to the community that Marlee had, with some changes. I devoured this book on a plane ride and immediately started #3.

My Thoughts
Gah I absolutely love this series!! I honestly have no idea why I waited so long to pick up this sequel, I loved it even more than the first book!
One of the things I love most about this series is the way Alexa Martin addresses some of the more serious and harmful sides of sports. She doesn't romanticize football or what it's like to married/dating a professional athlete. She shows how toxic and truly dangerous it can be and I really appreciate that. Her discussion of CTE and sports induced brain injuries is such an important topic that needs to addressed and normalized more.
Poppy is hands down a new all-time favorite heroine of mine! She was such a complex and layered character and I became attached to her immediately. Poppy is extremely strong and independent without becoming unrealistic. I loved that she stood up for herself and never let TK, or anyone else for that matter, take advantage or walk all over her. She knew what she wanted and believed in and never backed down. But she was also kind and sensitive and so damn funny! Her character just had so much personality and leapt right off the page.
I also love Sadie and Brynn and am so glad that Brynn is the heroine in book 3!! I can't wait to read her book!
I liked TK but it was definitely Poppy that stole the spotlight for me. I just connected to her way more and found her character more engaging. But the romantic chemistry was absolutely amazing and their family moments were beyond adorable. I love non-traditional families represented in romance and my heart grew 3 sizes the first time Ace called TK 'Dad'

A couple that communicates and has a healthy relationship? A protagonist that’s head strong but not unnecessarily stubborn? A love interest that knows when he’s fucked up and betters himself?
This was so good and the author has improved so much since the first book! I can’t wait to get to the next one!

I liked this one better than the first one. This was a fun read.
I freaking love football season and love this series even more now. TK is the king. I love his and Poppy's story so much. They are the perfect grumpy sunshine, single mom, found family, football romance.
I've always been a huge football fan and this is just another reason to love this crazy insane sport.

Meh. I enjoyed the first novel in this series (though was annoyed at times by Marlee's immaturity), and liked that Poppy was a single mom so I thought, she must be mature. She was more mature than Marlee, I guess.
Everything in this felt...without. There wasn't a lot of build up of anything, it was just like, Oh! We've reconnected and I hate you but love you! Here's some drama, and we'll sort of address it and then bang. We're good. Here's more drama, repeat. Here's a mean bitch. Here's a pointless stalker arc. Here's the barely-touched-upon CTE conflict. Barely-touched upon may be a bit exaggerated, as it was present throughout the book, but nothing was immersive in this. I didn't feel I was "in their world", I just felt like I was going through the motions of reading this and they were going through the motions to fit the plot.
Meh.
