I watched the show before the book. I will say the show represented the book pretty well. I listened to the book on audio which was two different voices for Hannah and Clay which was nice. Obviously a heartbreaking story but a good read.

The only reason I’m giving this a one star rating is because I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. Hannah is quite literally one of the worst people I’ve ever met. I do understand that she’s struggling and she definitely has experienced trauma, but blaming other people for her suicide?

And sending it to people who aren’t even one of the reasons why?

Disgusting. 

Edit: Def changing the rating to 3.5 stars. The book kept me hooked, I cared about Hannah and Dylan and I think what the book talked about is important. Depression and suicidality is not rational nor does it need to „make sense“ to others. I don’t condone Hannah’s actions, as I stated before, but it shows reality.
