A quietly devastating collection of short stories that really resonated with me. With grief as a central theme, it is hardly uplifting. Rather, Yoshimoto left me feeling seen — less alone in the dark. Especially the start of the second story — "Love Songs" affected me, though I holistically prerred both the first and third stories.

Three histories about three different people. Each one lets you feel identified with the main characters. The stories are interesting even though they don't really tell you a lot.

Again stories where a loved one has passed away. The details of the stories didn’t really stick, but I liked them anyway.

Libro carino ma non entusiasmante. La prima storia è stata la mia preferita, intrigante e coinvolgente ma purtroppo troppo corta.

This was not a very good book.

Reminded me of Haruki Murakami, BUT not half as interesting.

I recall similar thoughts about Banana's other book(s) that I have read.
