Donatella is not any less whiny or spoiled as thr MC. The concept of the Fates is really interesting and provided intrigue, especially since the gripping magic of Caraval itself seemed to be lessened a bit in this one. The set up with Dante is really interesting, and I'm excited to see how thag evolves in book 3.

wow this was even more magical than the first book! 
this was definitely more action packed and had more magical aspects to the story. 
this game of caraval had more depth to it than the original. 
finally got to meet the infamous jacks 
i loved idea of the fates and the cards. it was so fun and whimsical!
