4⭐️ okay, here’s the thing… I loved the book, but I think I would have loved it even more if I hadn’t read the Once Upon a Broken Heart Trilogy first😅🫠 I know, I know, I should have read this series first but I only read OUBH because of BookClub soooo don’t hate me— I definitely realized my mistake, okay? 

BUT because I read it first, I feel like some of the “shocks” weren’t as shocking for me. I figured out some of them earlier than I think I was supposed to. 

Either way though, I did really love the book. The magic, the mystery, Tella’s POV, the relationship between the sisters, Dante (I’m obsessed—gives allllll the bad boy vibes that I love), and of course, can’t forget Jacks.

Pues me ha gustado mucho, el mundo de Caraval no defrauda y esta historia me ha encantado. Deseando seguir con la saga.

This sequel lacked the magical experience of Caraval we got in the first book. Tella is foolish and much more interested in men than the actual plot. I felt like she spent more time at the mercy of a man than actual solving problems and being a heroine. The stolen cloak scene felt like just another reason to have her be saved by Dante. I was uninterested in her romantic life, but unfortunately that seemed to be the focus. Also, Scarlett seems to have completely changed personalities. Everything seems to just be cobbled together and I'm not sure I'll read the third book.
