I wish they had kept the creepy vibe it had for the first half. There was one specific chapter that gave me goosebumps, but then they kind of stray away from that. It was still a really good book, with some surprises! I really liked it and would highly recommend it.

“If you leave a door half open, soon you'll hear the whispers spoken. If you play outside alone, soon you won't be going home. If your window's left unlatched, you'll hear him tapping at the glass. If you're lonely, sad, and blue, the Whisper Man will come for you.”

This was a really difficult read for me. I hate reading about children being hurt. Adults that hurt children make me sick and so this book was very hard to get through at times. Yes, justice was served, but not to all the guilty parties involved and the ones that were brought to justice just didn't seem like enough of a punishment. They should have had a worse punishment. I also had mixed feelings about one of the main villains in this book because yes he was a horrible person and he deserved to be brought to jail but at the same time my heart broke for him because no one saved him from the horrors he experienced as a kid and it made him in to the monster he became. Reading this was like reading a Criminal Minds episode, so it was definitely a good book. Just some parts were hard to read, so definitely keep that in mind if you want to give this book a try!

Overall, stories like this remind you that there are monsters in this world. Some brought to justice, others not, and it just isn't fair.
