I love Alice Oseman and her Heartstopper novels and everything, but teenagers who go to college don’t talk like that. The plot was good, but the dialogues were boring, the messages not reliable with the reality, childish actions…
I’m sorry Alice, but it wasn’t my favourite.

Oh, my god, do I feel seen by this book. I was sent a copy of this by the delightful Alexa earlier in the summer and I am now absolutely ashamed that it took me this long to finally read it. Alice Oseman told a story that perfectly encapsulates a specific subgenre of teenagers, a subgenre I belong to, and I'd just like to thank her for it.

After years I wanted to check what that whole fuss is about and to be honest I don't get why this book is so highly praised.
Don't get me wrong, it was decent but I wouldn't say I loved it. The exceedingly large amount of "uhm"s, "okay"s and "oh"s was really something im not looking forward to again.
On the other hand it was really nice to read about someone experiencing gifted kid burnout. Representation is also a huge plus.
I guess I'm on the fence. I liked the overall story but my expectations ruined it a little. Maybe I'm too old for this kind of literature and should have picked it up sooner.
