I'm in complete awe of this book, this whole trilogy.
To the point that I can barely think of words to describe it (the book hangover is strong with this one)...
What a fantastic story, with a fast-paced plot that still leaves plenty of room for delving deep into the MCs. Not only that, but the discussion of morality and faith in the plot was (in my opinion) amazingly well done.
If I could give this 10 super⭐'s, I would.

This also has to be one of the best 'redemption' arcs I have ever read, mainly because it is essentially a dive into Ceaden/Tal'kamar's character development, and I really enjoyed that. The epilogue really tied it all up beautifully, though I didn't see that coming at first. If I could give this 10 super⭐'s, I would.

I believe that this takes the record for the longest book I have ever read. And for me to finish an 864 page book means that it had to be good. Boy..was it frigging good! I love how the author resolved a lot of the story, and the extra acknowledgement for a part of the story that I didn't realize wasn't wrapped up. This was a great read, and I'd be excited to explore this world a bit more in the future! For anyone looking for an epic fantasy book with a great cast of characters and a plot with resolutions, then this is your book!

An epic and intense finale! This series is intricate and complex but worth the time spent to get to the ending. I really loved the characters in this series and will be sad to leave them. There are so many great moments and connecting threads in this series that it is definitely worth looking back at notes or rereading.

A very good ending to the series, but it’s a lot to follow. James is a great author and I look forward to reading his other works!

I really liked it, I thought the overall storytelling was great. And would rate this as one of my favorite original fantasy series in the past few years.
My only critique of the whole series was that this book in particular seemed a slower pace at times, especially around zavalar related chapters. I totally get why they’re there, and understand how integral they are to the overall plot, but can also see how the author might lose people because of said pacing.
Great way to round out the series / book. I don’t understand the criticisms about the ending? Honestly, I can’t see how it could have been done any other way (I may have guessed it a little while back, and was still keen to see it through).
As the authors first trilogy/ series, overall, super inspiring :) looking forward to the next one James!
