I've come to the conclusion that short stories just aren't for me. I try to read them but struggle to remain interested even when the writing is good. Fierce Pretty Things is the most I've enjoyed a short story collection and, although it still took me a long time to finish, I'd highly recommend it -- especially to people more interested in short story collections than me.
