I borrowed this from a public library in Singapore which I adored when I was nine. The ceilings were high and colorful, and you could see the Singapore Eye behind it, and I devoured this book on my cousin's bunk bed probably instead of going to the butterfly zoo like an idiot. More little girls should look up to Pippi Longstocking!

I loved the movies and tv shows when I was younger. Pippi is a great strong female character and there are some fun stories - but! The book it did not age well and the language used is rather problematic, it contains colonial racist stereotypes.

Un maravilloso cuento infantil de aventuras que he escuchado mientras pintaba. Algunas aventuras son muy graciosas y creo que, como Pippi, Tommy y Anika, a veces desearía poder comer un guisante y no hacerme mayor jamás.

I really just don't like Pipi's personality at all, and since this is a book about her, I'd rather not follow it any further.

Pippi Langstrumpf - ein Kinderklassiker schlecht hin. 
Pippi zieht in die Villa Kunterbunt und lernt ihre Nachbarn Tommy und Annika kennen. Gemeinsam erleben sie viele Abenteuer, bringen andere Leute zum Lachen und bereiten den Kindern in dem kleinen Städtchen eine Freude. Pippi lernt Plutimikation kennen, tanzt mit Dieben und findet einen Spunk. Die drei werden Sachensucher, Ausreißer und fahren auf hohe See. 
Die Geschichten von Pippi Langstrumpf sind zeitlos und unbeschwert, haben gleichzeitig aber auch viele wichtige Botschaften in sich.
Es gibt immer mal wieder stellen in den drei Teilen, die ich ein wenig zu schleppend finde. Trotzdem ist es jedes Mal ein erholsamer Spaziergang durch die Kindheit.
