This is written in letter format. Normally I would not like this. In fact at first I was thinking of dnfing it but withing the first chapters I began to fall in love with the characters. I felt the details that were written in these letters between so many and especially between my two favorite characters gripped me and wouldn't let go until the end as I am crying writing this review. There are 5 parts to this story. It is romantic and historical and a perfect read for this Christmas season. Also, the joint collaboration between these two authors living in two different countries was surprisingly well done.

This is usually not my kind of book but it came across my radar and I thought to give it a go. It is a lovely story beautifully told through letters and it might just have made me cry.

I highly recommend the audio version of this book. There is a different reader for each voice which makes it very engaging. Beautiful story about life and times of people in England during WW1.

This was a lovely book, perfect for this time of year. (But really, it would work at any time of year.)

I enjoy epistolary novels, and this was a standout. I wasn't ready for it to end.

The story was entirely made up of letters of correspondence, so this reminded me very much of The Guernsey and Literary Potato Peel Pie Society. It had a bit of a slower cadence but a lovely evolution of friendship. I wish the ending was expounded/explained more. It wrapped up so quickly, I worried that I missed something.
All in all, I would recommend. Clean language and clean romance. It does discuss war but not in any graphic terms.
