Be prepared, this is a beautifully written book, so atmospheric, dreamy and dark. It is also a slowww dense read, with complex explorations of morality, violence, loneliness & desire. Every single character is both a victim and perpetrator of trauma. The ending was simultaneously very satisfying and deeply tragic. This is a classic of vampire literature for a reason, but I can also see why some people would find it dull or too uncomfortable.

Mig langaði svo að líka við þessa bók. Ég trúi ekki hvað er hægt að láta lítið gerast yfir svona margar blaðsíður. Stundum liðu bara 1-2 mínútur á 10 blaðsíðum. Þetta hefði getað fyrirgefist ef sagan hefði verið grípandi og spennandi en svo var ekki.
