The epilogue was very intriguing and I hope that the set up doesn't fail in it's delivery. Like the other books I don't like the pacing of a slow 75% and then a fast rest of the book, but I'm enjoying the characters and it's an easy audiobook to get through

This was once again a hit from Genevieve Cogman! I absolutely adored the heist narrative of the sixth book of the Invisible Library series. Once again, I feel like this book also chipped away more at the lore of this world (or these worlds, I suppose). Irene and Kai are commissioned by a strange Fae to steal a painting. However, they must work with the team that he has put together consisting of another dragon and several Fae. Understandably, Irene and Kai are reluctant. However, with the fate of the world Irene spent her childhood in in the balance, they have no choice but to comply. This installment was chock full of the fun tropes that come with a heist and a pell mell group of experts. However, lurking beneath the trope is a deeper story of family secrets and conspiracies.

While I loved this installment, this novel gave me nothing in terms of the main plot. Like the last one it merely hinted at underlying chaos and turmoil that was lurking just beneath the surface waiting to emerge. We also got absolutely no Alberich and little to no Vale. This might be why it took me a bit longer to finish this book. However, I am hoping that the seventh (and penultimate) novel in the series will give me more meat off of the main plot rather than tiny crumbs.
