Pretty cute story.  I’m from Pittsburgh so I liked that the book was partially set there.

For most of the book I thought it was 3 star territory, I loved the ending!

Perfect for fans of magical realism, or books exploring other life paths (oona out of order comes to mind)!

This book did lose me on some of the technicalities, and I found myself getting confused in the middle- but overall I thought it was a sweet read with a good message.

Book #96 read in 2024

Heading into her college reunion, Jenny feels like she's the only one who didn't get the memo on life. Turns out, she was right. When Jenny finally gets her memo, she has to decide whether to accept it. To live her best life, Jenny must go back and "fix" what she did wrong the first time.

In a "Sliding Doors" type of story, we see Jenny in two parallel lives. Flipping back and forth between what could be and what actually is, I was drawn to the story. I didn't buy into some parts of it, like the romance. However, Jenny's friendship with Geeta is a highlight in both storylines. Overall, this was a unique and interesting story!

Thank you to the publisher for the complimentary ebook.

Thank you Harper Perennial and BiblioLifestyle for the gifted copy of The Memo!  All opinions in this review are my own.

While the ending can be predictable for this storyline, I loved the ride there!  I really liked Jenny as the main character and her character arc.  If you are a fan of the lighter Black Mirror episodes, then this book is for you!
