I normally read history and bio's but was intrigued by the premise of this work. I really enjoyed this one! Wasn't necessarily expecting to but I did. I know this book may not be for everyone but I highly recommend it. The author will take you on a journey and you will be glad you went for the ride. At times a little slow in the first 200 pages, the reader will be rewarded if they can hang in there.

This book, ugh got me. It’s a slow paced book, but it really just gives you time to soak everything before it tears your heart to pieces. I loved it though, such a beautiful story. I absolutely loved all the characters and was so invested, which is why is hurt so much. Not going to spoil it but it’s a book you just have to read for yourself.

Once I got into it, I was hooked and anxiously reading to learn what would happen. Great story about how short-term profits will leave us with nothing but pain. It does have a lot of "logging" talk, but it gives the book a blue-collar voice which adds to the authenticity of the story. The end had me feeling every emotion known to humans!
