This is a book I will freely recommend to everybody. I think each rule combats an issue that we are all familiar with and whether you apply the rule exactly, do your own take on it, or are just inspired to meditate on that aspect of your life more, this book is so impactful and in my case, extremely timely.

This book was written as a foundation to his book Habits of the household.

This one talks about the idea of creating a rule of life which is a fancy way of saying the habits we give our attention to ultimately are what dictate our lives. We have the power to choose and foster those habits in a healthy way. If we are not the ones choosing our habits, then someone or something else is choosing them for us.

I loved this one so much. I decided to purchase a hardcopy so that I can refer back to the life giving habits mentioned and figure out how to implement some or all of them into my own daily and weekly rhythms.

I personally liked this one better than Habits of the Household.

I DNF’d this book 4 years ago and it was staring at me on my shelf so I finally finished it. This book is good if you don’t know where to start with setting up a routine. I think it’s skippable or to just read sections you find interesting. I feel like I didn’t need to finish it but it wasn’t a bad read.

This was a good reminder of simple habits that reorient our days and heart toward Christ and toward others. In my opinion, this book would be much better suited to a man in the workplace than a stay at home mom.

I feel like I've read several book recently that attempt to shed light on this topic but none live up to The Common Rule. This book is practical and personal which I found very helpful. Highly recommend
