Slow to start but really caught me in the middle / end! Literally read the second half of the book in one sitting!

I love starting a new series of books, especially when it introduces a new character I know I’m going to fall in love with. This is one such book. Teresa Battaglia isn’t your usual type of detective. She’s a woman in her sixties with diabetes, who is struggling to come to terms with her ageing body and encroaching ill health. But she’s also brilliant at her job and a intuitive profiler.

This book puts me very much in mind of the much loved Vera Stanhope series of books by Ann Cleeves, which I’m also a huge fan of. I have a strong feeling that Teresa Battaglia is going to become just as loved in her own right.

A fabulous start to this new trilogy of books. You can read my full and expanded review over on my blog here: calturnerreviews.com
