As a woman, I did not feel like I was reading from a female’s perspective. It was what a man thinks a woman would say and do. Also, subjects of pedophilia and rape were very downplayed. Those subjects need time and attention. They felt casually placed in a rather chaotic plot. The story had potential, but it was hard to focus within the juvenile writing and lack of character depth.

Though I figured it out quite early on, and knew the police were going to barge in and save her I still really enjoyed this book. I also was suspicious of Sonia from first meeting her and only grew more wary of her as it went on. The headmaster was such an obvious red herring it kind of shown more suspicion on her.
It was a fast-paced page turner though and I felt the ending came together very well. I’d be interested in a Hazel and Kenny sequel!
