This was a compelling read centred around the disappearance of Mia, a young girl living at an orphanage. The story follows PI, Hazel, as she attempts to uncover the truth behind Mia’s disappearance. With many twists and turns, the book keeps you hooked and you can’t help reading on.
Looking forward to reading the next book in the series

Loved this read. Couldn’t put it down.
This book kept me guessing until the very last minute. I truly did not see the big twist coming. This ride felt like we were on Hazel’s team trying to solve the case. Well written and well executed.

Was hesitant because I saw so many bad reviews, but I liked this mostly. Some parts were annoying to read, like how the FMC hardly showered... but overall, it was interesting. I would say the twist was kind of obvious, but not enough it ruins the book.
Slight spoilers below!!
I liked Kenny, and I feel Hazel was so rude to him! Like he cooks for you and looks out for you, and you're calling him creepy? Hazel herself was super unprofessional, constantly ignoring her client, being late, sleeping in her clothes and makeup, and also spilling her guts to everyone. Like I assumed no one could be trusted, but after meeting someone one day later she is telling them of an event that happened to her and surprise surprise when that is thrown back in her face soon after.
The ending kinda slapped me in the face with how dark it got, so trigger warning for p*dophilia.
Another gripe I have is that I do not think a victim of SA would go over to a guys house when she hardly knows him, AND his family may be part of her investigation....

From the beginning you are sucked into this whirlwind of twists and turns. Just when you think you’ve figured it out, you haven’t. I somewhat predicted the ending as it got closer which I say is always a down fall but my mind typically goes to worst case scenario. The plot makes you not want to trust any of the characters. It’s written well and hard to put down. Only thing that didn’t sit well was the main characters willingness to overlook certain people. She’s a PI and should investigate everyone even if they don’t seem like a threat. Overall, I recommend this thriller/mystery!
