I think that I got whiplash from the turns this story took. I love loved it. I kind of saw the twists but at the same time I didn’t…like, thinking back on it I can see the writing on the wall but in the moment I was like WHHAAATTT?!? The very end felt a little rushed but, as I’ve said before, I don’t think it took much away from the overall story.

The Orphanage by the Lake is a good book. I really hope that it's the first in a series. I don't love reading first person and was turned off at first, but the likeable characters and intriguing plot kept me invested. The ending is somewhat predictable; however, it wasn't rushed like so many are lately.
