I'm... disgusted.
I am truly in shock by how this book has so many good ratings. Firstly, you can very much tell that this book was written by a man, specifically a white man who has never met a person of color in his life. The book is filled with stereotypes on top of stereotypes. Some things were just put in here that weren't even necessary. It seems like he wanted to write the character as a relatable, strong woman, but he came off as misogynistic, racist, and flat out insulting... The MC is a Korean woman, and there are so many asian stereotypes here that I can't even count... not only that, but in the past, the main character was sexually assaulted and the way that he handles her trauma and the whole situation about being assaulted is disgusting. The way that this author handles people of color and women needs to be studied if it was up to me this man would never release a book again!

I quite enjoyed the writing style of this book
It really kept me interested all the way through
There was some parts I fr rolled my eyes at
But I still enjoyed it quite a bit.
The ending was predictable but still an enjoyable read.

The only thing I could think about this whole book was a woman would never say that. It’s a comically stereotypical “woman written by a man” book and twist was predictable from the start.

Im surprised reading some of these other reviews. While not my favorite book ever, I didnt think this book was that bad. I also didnt think it was super offensive to women or anything. A lot of 30 year olds dont have their lives fully together yet, and if anything, Kenny, a male character, was written as even more of a flake than the main character.
Id say “maybe I need to reread”, but I wont- like I said, I found the book “fine” but “fine” isnt good enough for a reread with so many hooks and so little time.
But yeah, I guess I just didnt find this book especially bad or especially good. It was just your average range thriller.
